New Zealand

What an awesome place this is. It’s a land of unparalleled beauty, a land of no indigenous land animals, a land where you can fix anything with a number 8 wire, a land where you can surf and snowboard in the same day and a land where the church is being choked to death by the hands of secularism.

This past December Ash and I had an awesome opportunity to serve and teach a small group of people passionate about reaching their culture for Christ.  Within the past year my friends Amy and Blair have taken some huge steps of faith to start up a small non-profit called Wide Open Spaces (WOS). The vision behind WOS is to reach young people through adventure and the wilderness of New Zealand.  WOS will partner with churches and para-churches to take people out on guided multi-day adventures.  It is through these adventures that they will have the opportunity to see God in creation and escape the everyday mundane and capture a vision for a deeper life with Christ.  In addition, these trips are a powerful way to cast vision and develop young and growing teens into the future leaders of the New Zealand church.  No one else is really doing anything like this, which is surprising considering so much of kiwi culture revolves around outdoors and adventure.   I am excited to see how God is going to use this little mustard seed of a ministry to change this country.
