Nexus International

The old saying goes “if you give a man a fish you feed him for a day but if you teach him to fish you feed him for a life time.” In a nut shell that is probably the best way to describe our ministry with Nexus.  Nexus Vivus International is a resource center to provide training and support for national leaders and their youth agencies as they address the needs of young people in their respective countries. Our goal is to equip youth leaders of unreached people groups with the skills to be fishers of men.  Furthermore our goal is to increase the potential of youth workers throughout the world through encouragement, relevant teaching, and useful resources.

Mission:

Nexus International provides training and support for indigenous leaders in over 25 countries.  We seek to increase the potential of  local youth workers in their efforts to introduce young people to Jesus Christ and help them grow in their faith.  We identify and partner with catalytic national leaders who have influence among young people in their culture by offering practical training and long term encouragement.

Method:

We cast vision to local leaders for opportunities the church has to reach lost young people in their community

• We teach and model how to develop a vision for their city and how to equip and sustain a volunteer leadership team that will engage in youth evangelism for the long run.

We provide long term encouragement by walking closely  with indigenous youth workers and their families.

• Acts 15:36 -“Let us return and visit the brethren in every city…and see how they are.”

We equip indigenous youth workers in the heart and skills of effective relational evangelism and discipleship.  Developing healthy leaders who reproduce themselves requires life-on-life modeling.
We aim to help young leaders grasp the fundamentals of leadership so that they will be spiritual leaders who multiply themselves over and over again.  Healthy leaders  know the “why” behind what they do.  And they develop a habit of pouring into a few so that their will be others to carry the baton of leadership in the future.  Here are some of the training themes we emphasize:

Wilderness Ministry Institute

Wilderness Ministry Institute (WMI) is a ministry of Nexus International.  It has proven to be a powerful avenue to share the Gospel, develop leaders and cast vision to a small group of individuals.  I have always been passionate about wilderness ministry and I am thankful that this is where I spend most of my time.

Mission:
Introducing young people to Jesus Christ and helping them grow in their faith through guided wilderness adventures.

Method:
Developing outdoor leaders who are humble in heart and excel in the skills of safely and effectively introducing young people to Jesus Christ in the outdoors.
Initiating, developing, and evaluating Christ-centered, outdoor ministry programs worldwide that are committed to providing the highest possible quality wilderness experiences at the lowest possible cost.
